Photovoltaic systems coupled with DC aerators are commonplace for providing needed oxygen to bodies of water. When a small aerator is placed in a stock tank, bubbles of air continuously trying to break through the ice will create a de-icing effect. These solar systems make a great alternative to manually checking stock tanks or using an expensive gas de-icer.
